GET JIGGY AT A JUBILEE COURTYARD PARTY

The Rosewood London is holding a special al fresco afternoon tea in their iconic courtyard on High Holborn. Inspired by a traditional British street party, bunting will adorn their  belle epoque façade and the courtyard will be lined with floral filled tables.  Live music, and their very own royal guards will commemorate the Queen’s 70 years of service.

Tickets  include afternoon tea, a glass of bubbles, as well as wine, beer and soft drinks.

Claridges 

SIP ON  A SPECIAL JUBILEE COCKTAIL

First served at Claridges 1953 to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth, the Windsor Rose will be one of five special cocktails being served up in the bar over the jubilee celebrations and whilst you’re sipping on your delicious drink, the hotel archivist will be on hand to showcase photographs of the Queen’s many previous visits to the hotel and items from her coronation.

Claridges has a rich history of royalty staying on the premises. In 1947 it’s alleged that a diplomat telephoned the hotel and asked to speak to the king. “Certainly sir.” was the response, “but which one?”

The Ritz

ATTEND A LOVELY JUBILEE STREET PARTY

London’s Jermyn Street will be closed to traffic on Saturday 4th June to host a classic Street party with food, drink, live music and entertainment. In celebration of the festivities The Ritz is collaborating with English sparkling wine makers, Nyetimber, serving drinks and a specially designed afternoon tea.

Nyetimber have also released a limited-edition bottle of their Classic Cuvee. Specially  created for the Platinum Jubilee containing a combination of Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinot Meunier grapes, he bottle is dressed in an iridescent oyster coloured sleeve decorated with threads of delicate golden bubbles and a patriotic Union Jack.

CELEBRATE IN STYLE IN LONDON’S MAYFAIR

Slushies, ice-creams, cocktails, sushi and traditional fish and chips: North Audley Street in Mayfair is the place to be indulge and get into the Jubilee spirit.

FEAST AT A JUBILEE THEMED FOOD FESTIVAL 

Raymond Blanc, Gennaro Contaldo, Great British Bake Off’s Karen Wright and other stars of the gastronomy world will cooking and hosting masterclasses in the beautiful surroundings of Blenheim Palace. Expect food-stalls with buttery baked treats and award-winning cheeses, hot street-food from around the globe and beer, cocktails and mocktails a-plenty.

GRAB A SLICE OF JUBILEE CAKE

The Standard have collaborated with Claire Ptak (who baked Harry and Meghan’s Wedding Cake), to create an exclusive cake for the landmark weekend.

The special Jubilee Cake stands at one metre tall and is adorned with purple flowers, edible gold and buttercream. The rich dark chocolate cake is spiked with blackcurrant-violet liquor and filled with a compote of English blackcurrants and a violet buttercream- all flavours reported to be the Queen’s favourite.

Guests can enjoy a slice of the chocolate cake when booking the ‘Slice of Royalty’ room package between 2nd - 7th June or if you don’t fancy staying over, head to Violet Cakes Bakery in East London to pick up a portion from the 7th June.

The George, London

TAKE A SPARKLING WINE MASTERCLASS

For those looking to toast the celebrations in a quintessential British style, Upstairs at The George will be hosting an English Sparkling Wine masterclass, featuring four of England’s top sparkling wines, lead by Head Sommelier, Dan Orton. 

The English Sparkling Wine masterclasses will run from the 2nd-4th June from 11am-12pm with lunch served afterwards from 12pm-1.30pm. Guests will learn about the history of English Sparkling Wine and be educated on some of the most exciting home-grown wines to try, alongside a selection of canapés created by Executive Head Chef, Alex Harper.

Following the tasting, a two-course lunch will be served in the dining room including an array of best of British dishes including, Three Carlingford Oysters with shallot & Cabernet Sauvignon vinegar dressing, Grilled English Asparagus, Jersey Royal potato salad, hazelnuts, goat’s cheese (v) and Loch Duart Salmon, wild garlic butter, brown shrimp, mussels. The set menu will also include Bangers & Mash, made with a beef sausage & pork sausage, creamy mash, tomato relish and Steak Tartare, hay smoked egg yolk, maple & black pepper sourdough (£5 supplement).

The Elder, Bath

ENJOY AN EXCEPTIONAL AFTERNOON TEA

The Elder in Bath will be saluting the Queen with a regal street party on their gorgeous terrace. Celebrate the festivities with a classic afternoon tea showcasing the best of the British larder and indulge in a resplendent seven-course tasting menu.
