It's impossible not to feel a spark of joy at the news that Marni and Uniqlo have come together once again. While we loved their summer range, the new collection, given that it comes in a cost-of-living crisis, both offers the gift of warmth due to Uniqlo’s Heattech layers – and a jolt of happiness – thanks to Marni’s mood-lifting colour combinations.
“This season’s theme is the joy of being warm and is expressed through products synonymous with winter, such as Heattech and knitwear”, says Yukihiro Katsuta, CEO of Fast Retailing Group and head of R&D at Uniqlo.
“After the first SS22 collection I am delighted to be able to announce this winter collection,” says Francesco Risso. “Through this collection I wanted to investigate the aesthetic perception of the 60s, flirting with clichés. The prints still reflect the idea that everyone has of Marni, as they are at the heart of our language and visualise our graphic style. This time, however, we have translated these psychedelic prints into garments that define the body without complexes, creating an enigmatic interplay of prints and anatomy to define the silhouette”.
The collection features everything you could want to stay warm and stylish, from colourful popcorn knits and stripey cashmere polo necks to colourful thermal layers, socks and balaclava knits. At SPHERE we are marking our diaries for December 1st when it arrives at selected stores and online.
