THE PRIZE

With three nights to spend exploring the grounds of Castelfalfi, our winner certainly won't be bored. The estate covers 2,700 acres of verdant land, with picturesque hiking routes and cycling trails to embark on. As well as its fairytale Borgo (medieval village) dotted with boutiques, delis and cobbled streets brimming with Etruscan heritage, the estate has olive groves and 25 hectares of vineyards. Here, guests can book in for guided tastings of Castelfalfi's house-made organic wines and olive oils.

The estate also boasts a series of upscale restaurants imagined by Executive Chef Davide De Simone. Il Rosmarino, located in the medieval village, is your traditional, cosy Italian trattoria – with wood-fired pizzas and Tuscan classics galore. Olivina offers contemporary dishes that celebrate the local produce; this bright space with views of the surrounding scenery is also where the hotel's delicious breakfast buffet is served daily. Bar Ecrú, besides being the hotel's chic corner for a creative cocktail, now offers a menu of Asian small plates and international cuisine – a welcome shake-up from the Italian dishes, should you fancy it.

The RAKxa Wellness Spa is an exclusive offering at Castelfalfi, as the only outpost of RAKxa Integrative Wellness outside of Thailand. The regenerative treatments are rooted in traditional healing therapies such as Ayurveda, and the sleek spa itself includes three saunas, a Turkish bath, three sensory showers and – the showstopper – an indoor-to-outdoor heated pool where guests can swim seamlessly from the spa's marbled interiors to a calm infinity pool that flows over Castelfalfi’s iconic view of the Tuscan countryside.
