Experience: Courtauld Gallery
After three years and £60m in development, the Courtauld is ready to re-establish its status as one of the world’s most respected galleries. Featuring work from Botteceli to the Bloomsbury Group, ranging from the Middles Ages to the 20th Century. In terms of sheer hit rate you would be hard pressed to top one single room in which hangs Cézanne The Card Players, Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergère and Van Gogh’s Self- Portrait with Bandaged Ear.

Visit: Louis Vuitton New Bond Street
In a week where the world paid tribute to menswear creative director Virgil Abloh, it is worth remembering the founder of the label that attracted such talent in the first place. Caroline Bongrand has created a vivid biographical novel of Louis Vuitton tracing his route from determined young a village in the Jura mountains to becoming responsible for one of the world’s great luxury labels. Full of exceptional detail, it encapsulates how Vuitton built the brand and how the trunks become the travel accessory by which all others will be judged.
