Summer is coming to an end, but the weather is picking up and August could be your last chance to roll out a blanket and picnic till the sun begins to dip. Available to pick up from Great Scotland Yard Hotel before waltzing over to find a spot in the nearby St James’ Park. At £25 per head, all you have to do is book a slot and collect the portable hamper from the hotel reception at your allocated time. All of the rest is taken care of, inside the wicker basket.

Blending gourmet delights with the effervescence of Veuve Clicquot champagne, this sumptuous spread is designed to both match he canary-yellow aesthetic of the champagne house and complement the notes of the champagne itself. However, for those laying off the alcohol, a bottle of refreshing homemade lemonade is also tucked in the selection. All the foodie treats are prepared fresh by the acclaimed kitchen at Great Scotland Yard Hotel. From Chicken Coronation sandwiches to decadent cheesecake mousse and macerated strawberries. Along with cheeses, olives, salamis and all the classically continental picky-bits we know and love.

As we said, all you need in is the basket. That means food, fizz and the essentials: blankets, cutlery, condiments and you’re set for a truly indulgent al fresco experience. St James’s Park is only a four-minute away from Great Scotland Yard Hotel, so you can gather a group and settle down with the pelicans and lakes in sight.
