For this year’s Krug Encounters, the house of Krug announces a luxury champagne train journey devised in collaboration with musical genius Jools Holland

Seeing blending music as akin to blending the grapes used to make its prestigious champagne, the house of Krug has devised a new summer event Tracks on Tracks – a luxury train journey that will stop for a series of exclusive musical performances – that will take place on 31 August, extending its popular Krug Encounters experiences.

Focusing on the relationship between food and music, Krug Encounters bring together exceptional cuisine, soundtracks for an unforgettable experience. This year’s experience, a luxury train journey, will start at London Victoria, where guests will be greeted by staff before embarking on a scenic train journey through the English countryside allowing guests to experience the golden age of train travel while sipping of a glass of Krug.

Throughout the day (the event will be held on the 31 August) guests will be given the opportunity to savour the recently launched Krug Grand Cuvée 166ème Edition while tucking into an array of gourmet dishes prepared by Luke Robinson, Head Chef at Soho’s Evelyn’s table.

Conceived in collaboration with musical genius Jools Holland, the experience will explore the harmony of good champagne, music and food, stopping at three private platforms – Medstead & Four Marks, Alesford and Ropely – along the way for a series of exclusive musical performances curated by Holland. The impressive musical line up will include Irish singer-songwriter Jack Lukeman, and new Sony signing Hailey Tuck. Keeping some details for the day, the identity of the third performer is being kept under wraps.

“I am so delighted Krug has asked me to be part of the next Encounter, hosted on a train,” says Holland. “I am great fan of Krug and I particularly admire the way the same family have evolved and developed the vineyard over the last six generations. They treat the growing of grapes and the creation of champagne with the sensibility of musical art.”

“We are thrilled to be collaborating with Jools Holland OBE for this year’s Krug Encounters,” says Olivier Krug also commenting on the event. “His role of ‘conductor’ will bring his musical expertise and gravitas to the forefront of this unforgettable train journey.”

Krug’s Tracks on Tracks will take place on the 31 August, tickets cost £450 per person, or £800 for a pair. krug.com
