It seems that everything Stephen Webster touches turns to gold. That would include his new book, Gold Struck: A Life Shaped by Jewellery, a beautiful tome illustrated through 350 images, voiced with personal anecdotes and memories.

Archive materials include snapshots of Webster’s youth along with photographs by Amelia Troubridge and Rankin, while the foreword is by close friend Tracey Emin.

Gold Struck traces Webster’s career as a jeweller over the past 40 years, through a chronological exploration of his most intricate pieces. The book depicts how Webster progressed from the humble ‘rough diamond’ potential of his youth as a jewellery apprentice, to the well-cut success that he has achieved today. With no detail too small – as in his designs – Webster takes us through the highs and lows of his life, demonstrating how his experiences are inextricably linked to his creations. Enrobed in an amethyst slipcase, the book is as much a piece of art as the detailed illustrations of Webster’s designs inside.

Gold Struck: A Life Shaped by Jewellery is priced at £50 and is available in a special art edition for £150. Available at Fortnum & Mason and Amazonfortnumandmason.comamazon.co.uk
