Victoria Beckham releases new beauty range with Estée Lauder

Beauty fans world over are falling over themselves to get a piece of the new ultra-covetable Victoria Beckham x Estée Lauder (#VBxEsteeLauder) beauty collection, the second offering in the ongoing collaboration between the two powerhouse names since the debut line landed last autumn.  

With five ranges inspired by some of Victoria’s favourite travel destinations (running the gamut from London to L.A.), makeup products lend a polished VB-inspired touch to any beauty look, including golden bronzers, skin perfecting powders, eye matte duo powders, metallic eye shadows, striking eye foils, mascaras, lip pencils, lip glosses and illuminating crèmes. In other words, there’s something for everyone, whatever the place or situation.  

We caught up with Victoria – impeccably dressed in styles from the autumn/winter 2017 Victoria Beckham fashion line – at a penthouse suite in Claridges, Mayfair to find out more (and try out some of the new products for ourselves, of course). 

What are your travel essentials? 

One of the first things I wanted to create when I started working with Estée on this collection was a product that would moisturise as well as brighten. I was looking to develop something that could instantly wake up my skin after a long flight and make me glow for when I have to face the cameras. So, we developed this incredible illuminating creme called Morning Aura. It’s like my secret weapon for fresh, luminous skin – now, I never travel without it!

What are some of your favourite destinations? 

The new collection includes five looks inspired by the cities I love and visit the most; London, L.A., New York, Paris – and now, for the first time, Miami. I always have a great time in Miami. The climate is so hot that the whole place seems to feel very alive and lush. My Miami makeup look is all about warm, bronzed skin, bright eyes and a summery flush to the cheeks. I also wanted to translate the colourful detailing of Miami’s Art Deco architecture into a new bold eye – so, the look includes this amazing eyeshadow duo with an electric blue tone, complemented by a nude shade. The Miami lip look is slightly more pink than the lipsticks we introduced in the first collection, which is so pretty when worn with the blue eye.

How do you cope with being a jet-setter when it comes to beauty? 

For me, feeling good no matter where I am in the world starts with what I put into my body. I make sure that I stay well hydrated and eat foods that are rich in good fats, like avocados and salmon – things that will give me the energy to fight jet lag and keep my skin looking healthy. 

What’s your routine upon landing?

I apply Morning Aura before I get off the plane to give me that glowing, well-rested look and refresh my skin and I usually put on a favourite pair of sunglasses. At the moment I’m obsessed with my Flat Top Visor style! They hide a multitude of sins. I also try to adjust to the local time as quickly as possible, to help my body clock switch over and hopefully help me get some sleep. Before bed, I’ll apply a facemask to rehydrate my skin after the flight.

What beauty products can’t you live without?

You’ll always find a nude matte lipstick and lip gloss in my bag, along with a bronzer and a highlighter. With the second collection, I’ve also introduced my first mascara, which has this amazingly long wand and super-skinny brush, so that when you’re applying it you can reach each and every lash. I’m also really excited about the new Skin Perfecting Powder. It’s a translucent sheer powder which gives this incredible pore blurring, airbrushed finish. It’s perfect for touch-ups throughout the day and the packaging is really beautiful too.
