Michelin-Star Indian Restaurant Benares Launches New Set Menu

Those with a taste for indian must check out the new limited edition Ayurvedic menu at Benares. Crafted by Executive Chef Sameer Taneja, the menu encapsulates the transition into colder seasons.

Winter Spiced Herb Rasam

Benares, the Michelin-star restaurant located on Berkeley Square in Mayfair, introduced a new three-course Ayurvedic set menu this January.

The menu embodies the Ayurvedic principles of balancing the different types of energy within the body through spices, ingredients, and textures in our food.

Winter Squash Nihari

Promising to rejuvenate both the mind and the body, the menu draws inspiration from the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda to alleviate the transition into the colder months. Sameer Taneja, Executive Chef at Benares, uses warm flavours, spices, and herbs to balance the time of year. Taneja works only with the highest ingredients, and his unique approach pairs Indian cuisine with classical French culinary techniques.

The set menu will be available between January 8 and February 5 for lunch and dinner reservations, with a price of £49pp.

Benares has held a Michelin Star for 16 years, with the name deriving from India’s holy city. For those looking for a cosy escape from the cold and a hearty meal packed with nourishing ingredients, it makes for the perfect spot.
