Regional Manager Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa for the UBS Art Collection, Evans reveals the top bars, cafes and cultural sites in the area she lives in

Greenwich Market

Greenwich Church Street, SE10 9BQ

This is a lovely place to spend an afternoon browsing after lunch. The stallholders are local and experts in their respective fields — it’s a great place to search out a bargain and unique antiques. greenwichmarketlondon.com

Oliver’s

9 Nevada Street, SE10 9JL

An intimate basement jazz bar, this plays host to some of the best musicians in London. It’s a great place to go with a friend or for a romantic evening with someone special. oliversjazzbar.com

Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site

SE10 9NN

The elegant classical architecture offers the perfect backdrop for a weekend stroll. The Queen’s House has the added bonus of being a wonderful gallery with paintings by those including Stubbs, Lowry, Canaletto and Turner. It’s no surprise that many major films have been shot here. greenwichworldheritage.org

Eltham Palace

Court Yard, SE9 5QE

This is one of my favourite places in London. Built in the 1930s, the Art Deco interior is a modern masterpiece.
The landscaped garden complete with moat is the perfect setting for a romantic afternoon. english-heritage.org.uk

Ye Old Rose & Crown

1 Crooms Hill, SE10 8ER

There’s reportedly been a pub on this site since Tudor times. Quiz nights, Show-Tune Tuesdays and regular drag acts make this our local favourite on any day that we stop by. Saturdays are particularly fun and draw a great mix of people. greeneking-pubs.co.uk

Greenwich Park

SE10 8QY

Perfect for picnics in summer and the colours in autumn are stunning. The views across London from the top of the hill are fabulous. I find something new every time I visit. The hidden flower garden on the Blackheath side is a particular favourite place of mine in the summer. royalparks.org.uk

Heaps Café

8 Nevada Street SE10 9JL

I love visiting this special café in the winter for breakfast. Its sausages are made on-site and are absolutely delicious — the vegan options are equally tasty. It also offers take away so you can cook its sausages at home. heapssausages.com
