Afternoon Tea Week might be over for another year, but there are still plenty of indulgent treats to be found within the capital. At the top of the list, Mayfair’s prestigious Burlington Arcade has partnered with Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane on a tasty new launch in recognition of Burlington’s landmark 200th birthday.
Crafted by the hotel’s head pastry chef, David Oliver the limited-edition Burlington Afternoon Tea features five delectable bespoke cakes inspired by the historic charms of the arcade, encapsulating its world-famous architecture, quintessential Britishness and luxurious offerings of fashion, fragrance, beauty, design and watches and jewellery.
Highlights include The Velvet Hat – a nod to the top hats of the Victorian age with a white chocolate-covered Joconde sponge – and The Joss Flower, infused with notes from the bespoke fragrance created by Atkinson 1799 for the 200th anniversary. Additionally, The Burlington Battenberg is a chocolate-and-bergamot confection decorated to imitate the arcade’s distinctive marble floor.
