Valentine's themed afternoon tea at Jumeriah Carlton Tower
If you're making a real day of it, start off at Knightsbridge, where a luxurious afternoon tea is being hosted at Jumeriah Carlton Tower. Pastry Chef Lyece Major and Head Chef Simon Young have collaborated to create a Valentine’s themed four-course tea, including an Amuse Couer course and a Sweet Love course. Lovebirds can snack on savoury scones, fresh lobster brioche rolls and hand-crafted sweets, among other baked treats.

Treat your other half to a Parisian dining experience at Mayfair’s Les 110 de Taillevent, an eatery with a reputation for excellent wine pairings and imaginative modern French gastronomy. Book a table for two in the intimate dining room and enjoy an extravagant six-course menu alongside some of the 110 varieties of wine on offer by the glass.
Though the weather outside is frightful, you and your beau can stay cosy at Dalloway Terrace with a pot of molten chilli and chocolate fondue (the perfect dessert to follow such rich dishes as Aberdeen beef carpaccio and pan-seared cod). The Nordic-inspired, foliage-covered hideaway is ideal for a secluded date - and any Instagram snaps you may care to post.

For an evening that will really impress, splash out on the five-course meal offering at Alain Ducasse’s three-Michelin-starred restaurant at The Dorchester. For an extra-special treat, ask for Table Lumiere - described as the "most romantic table in London" - which is set in a partially private space cocooned with thousands of fairy lights. There are also two special Dom Perignon experiences on offer.
Ella Canta's Makech cocktail
In the mood for a nightcap? Sample a slice of Mexico on Park Lane; for Ella Canta's El Día de San Valentín celebrations, the bar staff have concocted a unique menu of Valentine-themed cocktails with a Latin American twist. Our favourite is the Makech, an infusion of fresh, candied Patrón Silver Tequila with coconut, cola, vanilla reduction and a hit of fresh lime.
